EPISODE 12 – GREAT ALBUM COVERS, NOT-SO-GREAT INVENTIONS – AND CARTOON CHARACTERS WE FANCY

20/10/2008

In which the token female leaves the boys alone for an episode, and guess what? They end up discussing which members of the two-dimensional Scooby-Doo cast they’d like to pork.

After our September hiatus, we’re back! Back! Well, three-quarters of us are. Unfortunately Andrea was indisposed and unable to be there for the making of Episode 12 (her jazz hands are recovering nicely. Just don’t ask about her scatting injuries) – but she shall return to inject some much needed oestrogen into the proceedings in November.

This month, the boys cover dead rock stars, superhero movies, album artwork, rubbish modern inventions and which cartoon characters they’d like to ‘animate’. Strangely, the latter group didn’t include Jessica Rabbit.

So: listen (to the podcast), read (our illustrative posts below), enjoy (both, hopefully) and feel free to share your thoughts. Except not the really dodgy ones. Although surely they can’t be dodgier than “Cheetara from Thundercats”?

I for one am surprised at the lack of Jessica Rabbit. She was a major crush for me at the age of.. well.. whenever that was. I’m only 28 though so maybe it’s the age difference.

I’ve now listened to every single podcast in two days while sitting here at my boring data entry job and was thoroughly entertained. I realised I missed the old UK shows that used to play late night on ABC here in Australia that were basically the same thing as your podcast. A group of funny educated people talking about all sort of things. I also miss ‘Sticky Moments with Julian Clary’ but you know.. I was a strange kid.

Now I finally know more about the infamous Sean as well. Weird thing about the podcasting business, now you’re like a friend I’m not mates with. I have a good idea of your politics and I know what makes you laugh which is good enough. Strangely I also agree with most things you say. Token note of appreciation for the other speakers here.

Anyway, cheers from South Australia. I’m looking forward to the next one!

Nice one Panos. Other Bingoers take note – I’m a legend :)

I’m impressed, Sean. I thought you were like the Fun Lovin’ Criminals, ie. famous abroad but completely unknown in their own country.
